Main Purpose of the Role
The primary objective of this role is to generate commission revenue for the company. The ideal candidate will leverage their skills to create liquidity by obtaining dealing prices and interests from clients for the desk. This position requires exceptional communication and networking abilities, particularly with traders and decision-makers at local Turkish banks. Maintaining these critical relationships and fostering effective collaboration are essential for the success of our operations. Additionally, the role involves creating new business opportunities while developing and enhancing existing client relationships. The candidate must operate in accordance with FCA and other relevant regulatory requirements, ensuring full compliance with desk procedures and policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Broker products in accordance with established market practices and compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
- Gain a complete understanding of and work within internal compliance and other policies and procedures, including specific desk procedures. Maintain this knowledge as policies evolve.
- Complete all assigned training and policy attestations timely.
- Calculate dealing prices following the company’s pricing policy.
- Record all brokerage deals following the company’s settlements and operations requirements.
- Raise the profile of the desk.
- Maintain fitness and propriety to become and/or continue as an approved person under the FCA’s approved persons regime, if required.
- Attend and contribute to all team meetings as requested by the desk head or manager.
- Stay vigilant to conduct risk issues, particularly the risk of harm to client interests, market integrity, and competition in financial markets due to inappropriate practices or behaviors.
Key Contacts/Working Relationships
- Engage with clients, traders, and financial institutions in London, Europe, or globally as required.
- Secure business and improve relationships with existing contacts.
- Develop relationships with new clients in the financial markets to expand the company’s client base.
- Contribute to brokerage agreement negotiations as necessary.
- Entertain and build personal connections with existing and potential customers.

- Generate at least the minimum revenue as outlined in the individual employment contract.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of all regulatory requirements on an ongoing basis.
- Actively contribute to the desk’s work, ensuring the company’s needs are prioritized in all activities.

Qualifications and Experience Required
- Demonstrable understanding of the financial services industry.
- Prior trading experience in either a bank or another financial services corporation.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience at a major local bank in Turkey.
- Experience executing transactions in REPO/Reverse REPO, FX Swap, FX Forward, Money Market, and OIS in Turkish Lira.
Systems Used
- Excellent PC skills, including proficiency in all Microsoft packages.
- Experience with Bloomberg terminal.
- Knowledge of Reuters market data.
- Familiarity with relevant exchange platforms.
