Main Purpose of the Role

This role is focused on generating commission revenue for the Company. The role holder will be expected to leverage all reasonable efforts to create liquidity by obtaining dealing prices and interests from clients for the desk. This line of business demands exceptional communication and networking skills, particularly with traders and decision-makers at local Turkish banks. Maintaining these critical relationships and fostering effective collaboration are essential for the success of our operations. Additionally, the role will involve creating new business opportunities as well as developing and enhancing existing client relationships. The role holder is expected to operate at all times in compliance with FCA and other relevant regulatory requirements and to remain fully aware of applicable desk procedures and compliance policies.

Key Responsibilities

Core Activities

  • Broking the product in accordance with established market practices and all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Gaining a comprehensive understanding of and working within internal compliance policies and procedures, including specific desk practices, and maintaining this knowledge as updates occur.
  • Completing all assigned training and policy attestations in a timely manner.
  • Calculating dealing prices in accordance with the Company’s pricing policy.
  • Recording all brokerage deals as per the Company's settlements and operations requirements.
  • Raising the profile of the desk.
  • Maintaining fitness and propriety to become and/or continue as an approved person under the FCA’s approved persons regime, if necessary.
  • Participating and contributing in all team meetings as required by the desk head or other manager.
  • Being alert to Conduct Risk issues, particularly any risks that may harm client interests, market integrity, or competition in financial markets due to inappropriate practices or behaviors across the firm.

Key Contacts/Working Relationships

  • Liaising with clients, traders, and financial institutions in London, Europe, and globally as needed.
  • Securing business and enhancing relationships with existing contacts.
  • Developing relationships with new clients in the financial markets, thereby expanding the Company’s client base.
  • Contributing to the negotiation of brokerage agreements as required.
  • Engaging with and entertaining existing and potential customers.

  • Generating at least the minimum revenue target outlined in the individual employment contract.
  • Demonstrating a thorough understanding of all regulatory requirements on an ongoing basis.
  • Actively contributing to the work of the desk, being a collaborative team member, and ensuring that the Company’s needs are prioritized in all activities.

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Demonstrable understanding of the financial services industry.
  • Previous trading experience within a bank or other financial services corporation.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience at a major local bank in Turkey.
  • Experience with transactions in REPO/Reverse REPO, FX Swap, FX Forward, Money Market, and OIS in Turkish Lira.

Systems Used

  • Excellent PC skills, including proficiency in all Microsoft packages.
  • Experience with Bloomberg terminals.
  • Proficient in Reuters market data.
  • Familiarity with relevant exchange platforms.
