Your Responsibilities

As a key player in our organization, you will hold global responsibilities for Trade Finance Strategy and Governance, initially concentrating on vital Asian markets such as China, South Korea, and Japan. The scope of your role is expected to expand in line with Group priorities and our operating model.

  • Negotiate and manage guarantees, bank acceptance drafts, short-term trade finance facilities, and communication agreements, serving as the primary bank-facing representative for trade finance.
  • Administer and report on global guarantee limits in trade finance applications.
  • Contribute to the definition of strategies for global financial institutions related to guarantees and bonds, ensuring ABB subsidiaries have sufficient access to guarantee lines.
  • Support the lead for supply chain finance, accounts receivable finance, Bank Acceptance Draft (BAD), and discounting facility initiatives, assisting with program implementation and management as required.
  • Align local processes with globally harmonized Trade Finance governance and operating standards.
  • Support M&A treasury activities and act as a global escalation point for export and trade finance topics.

Your Experiences

  • Fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English (both verbal and written) is mandatory; additional language skills in Japanese or Korean are advantageous.
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Law, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in trade finance, including practical experience in daily operations or a robust background in treasury or banking, along with a strong understanding and interest in trade finance.
  • A clear strategic vision complemented by meticulous execution, with the ability to comprehend complex situations and make pragmatic, risk-conscious decisions in high-stakes environments.
  • Proven aptitude for effective communication with senior executives, managing outcomes, and facilitating change across global teams and financial institutions.
  • Experience with SWIFT for Trade Finance and a keen interest in digitalization and automation are beneficial.
