Your Responsibilities
You will have global responsibility for Trade Finance Strategy and Governance, initially focusing on key Asian markets such as China, South Korea, and Japan. The scope of this role is expected to expand in line with Group priorities and our operating model.
- Negotiate and manage guarantees, bank acceptance drafts, short-term trade finance facilities, and communication agreements, serving as the primary bank-facing representative for trade finance.
- Oversee the administration and reporting of global guarantee limits in trade finance.
- Contribute to the definition of a global financial institutions’ strategy related to guarantees and bonds, ensuring that ABB subsidiaries have adequate access to guarantee lines.
- Support the lead for supply chain finance, accounts receivable finance, Bank Acceptance Draft (BAD), and discounting facility initiatives, assisting with the implementation and management of these programs as needed.
- Align local processes with globally harmonized Trade Finance governance and operational standards.
- Support M&A treasury activities and act as the global escalation point for export and trade finance topics.
Your Experiences
- Fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English (both verbal and written) is mandatory; additional language skills in Japanese or Korean are a plus.
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Law, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in trade finance, with practical experience in daily operations or a robust background in treasury or banking, accompanied by a solid understanding of and interest in trade finance.
- A clear strategic vision complemented by meticulous execution, with the ability to understand complex situations and make pragmatic, risk-conscious decisions in high-stakes environments.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with senior executives, manage outcomes, and lead change across global teams and financial institutions.
- Experience with SWIFT for Trade Finance and an interest in digitalization and automation are beneficial.
