Your Responsibilities

You will hold global responsibility for the Trade Finance Strategy and Governance, initially focusing on key Asian markets such as China, South Korea, and Japan, with expectations for scope expansion in line with Group priorities and operating models.

You will negotiate and manage guarantees, bank acceptance drafts, short-term trade finance facilities, and communication agreements, serving as the primary bank-facing representative for trade finance.

Your role will include the administration and reporting of global guarantee limits in trade finance.

You will contribute to the definition of global financial institutions’ strategies related to guarantees and bonds, ensuring that ABB subsidiaries have sufficient access to guarantee lines.

Support will be provided to the lead for supply chain finance, accounts receivable finance, Bank Acceptance Draft (BAD), and discounting facility initiatives, along with assistance in the implementation and management of these programs as needed.

You will align local processes with globally harmonized Trade Finance governance and operating standards.

Additionally, support M&A treasury activities and act as the global escalation point for export and trade finance topics.

Your Experiences

  • Fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English (verbal and written) is mandatory; additional language skills in Japanese or Korean are advantageous.
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Law, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in trade finance with practical operations experience or a robust background in treasury or banking, along with a solid understanding of and interest in trade finance.
  • A clear strategic vision complemented by meticulous execution, with the ability to understand complex situations and make pragmatic, risk-conscious decisions in high-stakes environments.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with senior executives, manage outcomes, and drive change across global teams and financial institutions.
  • Experience with SWIFT for Trade Finance and an interest in digitalization and automation are beneficial.
