Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for creating efficient, compliant, and customer-focused transport plans. Your aim will be to maximize fleet and resource utilization while ensuring that operational requirements are consistently met. Key duties include:

• Exhibiting leadership qualities in the day-to-day management of shifts, fostering a collaborative and coaching environment for all staff.
• Maintaining internal databases and, where applicable, following up on all defects with the Fleet Department.
• Overseeing the vehicle and trailer maintenance program.
• Conducting all depot daily checks during shifts.
• Engaging directly with drivers regarding daily performance and areas for improvement.
• Providing support to the Operations Manager to facilitate the planning and management of depot payroll.
• Ensuring that all personnel files are current, with validated licenses, personal details, and completed training records.
• Coordinating recruitment and training efforts for new employees.
• Assisting in accident investigations and follow-up actions.
• Completing daily risk assessments of the yard and office areas.
• Identifying and reporting maintenance and repair issues on site to the Operations Manager.
• Providing information to the Senior Operations Supervisor & Transport Manager for accurate weekly KPI reporting.
