Program Overview

Your journey begins with a basecamp: a 4-week immersive blended experience designed to introduce you to our organization, the drug development process, various departments in Translational Medicine, the clinical trial process, and the tools and technical platforms necessary for your work.

Throughout the program, fellows will engage in continuous learning focused on soft skills, cross-functional exposure, and thematic introduction series—expanding your perspective beyond immediate teams and functions.

As a TM Academy fellow in PCS Data Science, you will gain knowledge and contribute to one or more of our global interdisciplinary teams, including Translational Toxicology, Mechanistic & Predictive Safety, Pathology, and Therapeutic Area Safety Assessment. Your contributions will support project teams throughout the Research & Development lifecycle across diverse disease areas and therapeutic modalities.

Responsibilities

During the TM Academy, you will:

  • Build a strong foundation in translational medicine with guidance from industry experts.
  • Experience a progressive and flexible learning journey covering conceptual, theoretical, and experiential techniques.
  • Become part of a global network of supportive peers and mentors who will guide your collaboration on meaningful projects shaping the future of medicine.
  • Gain hands-on experience by supporting various activities related to translational safety assessments using computational approaches.
  • Expand your professional knowledge through deep dives into areas aligned with your interests and based on available opportunities.
  • Have the opportunity to mentor new fellows and give back your knowledge.

Role Requirements

Candidates should possess:

  • Demonstrated experience with large-scale biological datasets (e.g., genomics, transcriptomics, imaging, preclinical/clinical data).
  • MSc or PhD or equivalent experience in a quantitative field (computational sciences, physics, mathematics, economics, computational biology, machine learning, data science, or a related field).
  • Strong programming skills in Python/R, including agent-based coding.
  • A solid understanding of statistics and machine learning.
  • Experience with reproducible data science tools and practices.
  • Fluency in business-level English, both oral and written.
  • Good organizational, interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills.
  • The ability to work in a team and independently, managing multiple priorities with support.
