Your Key Responsibilities

The core focus of this traineeship is to learn the fundamentals of being a Formula 1 race team mechanic within the sub-assembly field.

  • Actively contribute to the meticulous assembly, teardown, and ongoing maintenance of advanced F1 chassis components on a daily basis.
  • Conduct high-precision measurements and regular service life interval checks using specialized metrology instruments.
  • Assume progressive responsibility for the build and maintenance of complex rear axle assemblies over time.
  • Provide critical trackside support during racing events, marking a significant milestone following the training period.
  • Manage several mechanical car assemblies from initial preparation to regular services.
  • Ensure seamless delivery of prepared assemblies to the final Car Build group for track operations.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including the Race Team and Design Office.
  • Execute assigned technical tasks independently with minimal supervision after the integration phase.

Your Competency Profile

  • Completion of basic mechanical training as an automotive mechanic, mechatronics technician, or agricultural machinery mechanic is mandatory.
  • Outstanding manual dexterity combined with a careful and forward-thinking working style is crucial for this position.
  • Proven experience in the application of precise measuring instruments is necessary to verify engineering tolerances.
  • A solid technical and mechanical understanding of high-performance automotive systems is required.
  • Basic knowledge of operational software such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and SAP is considered a beneficial asset.
  • High levels of motivation, proactivity, and resilience are essential to thrive in the high-pressure environment of Formula 1.
  • An open-minded, solution-oriented, and results-driven mindset is expected from all members of the sub-assembly group.
  • Willingness to work outside of normal operational hours is required due to the nature of the racing calendar.
  • Proficiency in both English and German is essential for effective communication within the international race team.
