Position Overview: Tool & Equipment Engineer

As a Tool & Equipment Engineer, you will be a key member of the Production Support team. In this role, you will take the lead in equipment maintenance, repair, and replacement. Being responsible for a defined field allows you to build specialized know-how for specific processes and the respective equipment. This function enhances process efficiency through technological advancements and classical LEAN tools.

Your Tasks

  • Provide administration and supervision of external partners on site.
  • Create and maintain:
    • Technical Specifications
    • Calibration instructions
    • Process maps
    • Technical templates (Process Parameter Sheets, Machine Setup, etc.)
    • Work instructions
    • TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) Dossiers
    • TTE (Tool and Test Equipment equivalency documentation according to ARINC 668 standard)
    • GEM (Ground Equipment Manuals)
    • SAP equipment database (ZITOOL)
  • Introduce new technologies (e.g., automation).
  • Collaborate on projects.
  • Implement LEAN by executing 5S, Kanban, and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Design and modify equipment that is not commercially off-the-shelf (COTS).
  • Promote research & development for supported processes.
  • Ensure cost reduction of supported processes through automation and other efficiency improvements.

Your Profile

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, aviation, or equivalent.
  • Working experience in the aerospace industry or a similar industrial environment.
  • MRO and/or Engine knowledge desired.
  • Experience in designing and drawing components using CAD; desirable experience with Fusion 360.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Independent, precise, and responsible work ethic.
  • Open-minded, dedicated team player.
  • High safety, quality, and cost awareness.
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel, and SAP.
  • Fluent in German (Level C1) and English (Level B2).
