Position Overview

This position reports to the Technical Training Manager.

About the Role

Are you passionate about sharing knowledge, excited about new technologies, and experienced with ABB excitation systems? Do you enjoy translating complex systems into engaging learning experiences? If so, this could be the perfect role for you.

We’re seeking a Technical Trainer to lead training delivery and content development for our ABB excitation products. You'll train clients, partners, and internal staff, while also shaping and maintaining our online digital training environment, preparing learners for our next-generation product launches.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering technical training on ABB excitation systems (e.g., UNITROL), both virtually and in person.
  • Designing, updating, and managing course materials, training manuals, and e-learning modules while continuously improving our digital training environment (e.g., LMS platforms, virtual labs, documentation).
  • Collecting feedback and assessing training effectiveness for ongoing improvement and customized training based on client needs and evolving product specifications.
  • Collaborating with R&D and engineering to align training with the latest technological developments.
  • Acting as a technology ambassador—training internal and external users on our next-generation excitation products.

Your Background

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related field, along with experience as a technical trainer, service engineer, or technical instructor.
  • A solid technical background in ABB excitation systems (e.g., UNITROL).
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and digital training tools.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in German and French is a plus.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • A natural curiosity and passion for technology and innovation.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites and company locations up to 30% of the time.
