Exciting Opportunity: Technical Service Manager

Are you passionate about investigating complex technical issues and implementing effective improvements? We have an excellent opportunity for you! As a Technical Service Manager, you will be a vital member of the Global Technical Service team in our Service Division located in Baden, Switzerland. You will report to the Team Manager Technical Service and manage medium-complexity consulting assignments, develop and enhance products and services, and support sales and product management activities that add value for our customers.

Your Responsibilities

  • Ensure fast and efficient resolution of product issues by identifying well-judged technical solutions in collaboration with product representatives and external partners.
  • Manage commercial warranty and goodwill cases, considering long-term customer relationships and company interests while monitoring associated costs.
  • Conduct risk and opportunity analyses, proposing and initiating actions to mitigate and control risks, as well as capitalizing on business opportunities.
  • Build strong relationships to facilitate the exchange of technical knowledge and best practices.
  • Negotiate contracts to secure consulting assignments and provide technical assistance and guidance to the sales team.
  • Contribute to the development of processes and tools, ensuring compliance with regulations and contracts while investigating inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
  • Coach and develop consultants to ensure assignments focus on operational execution and excellence.
  • Travel globally as required (approximately 25%).

Your Background

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant products and applications as well as customer requirements in the turbocharger market.
  • Ideally, more than 2 years of experience in technical customer consulting and a long-term willingness to gain experience and knowledge in the turbocharging business.
  • Conflict and project management skills, complemented by a proven track record in conducting customer negotiations.
  • A strong focus on safe work practices and adherence to all relevant workplace safety guidelines.
  • Knowledge of field bus systems, especially with CAN.
  • A high level of self-motivation, curiosity, and eagerness to learn about new technologies.
  • Demonstrated management capabilities, with a collaborative, solution-focused approach and strong communication skills.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken; additional languages are desirable.
