Job Opportunity: Technical Service Manager

Are you passionate about tackling technically complex challenges, from analyzing current states to implementing impactful improvements? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you as a Technical Service Manager, a key member of our Global Technical Service team within the Service Division located in Baden, Switzerland. You will report directly to the Team Manager of Technical Service and manage medium-complexity consulting assignments, while also contributing to product and service enhancement and supporting sales and contract management activities to deliver value to our customers. Your Responsibilities:

  • Ensure efficient resolution of product issues by identifying optimal technical solutions in collaboration with product representatives and external partners.
  • Manage commercial warranty and goodwill cases, balancing long-term customer relationships with company interests while monitoring associated costs.
  • Conduct risk and opportunity analyses, initiating actions to mitigate risks and capitalize on business opportunities.
  • Build strong relationships to facilitate the exchange of technical knowledge and best practices.
  • Negotiate contracts for consulting assignments, providing technical assistance and guidance to the sales team.
  • Support the development of processes and tools, ensuring compliance with regulations and contracts, while investigating inefficiencies and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Coach and develop consultants to ensure successful delivery of assignments, focusing on operational excellence.
  • Willingness to travel globally as required (approximately 25%).

Your Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant products and applications along with customer requirements within the turbocharger market.
  • Preferred experience of over 2 years in technical customer consulting, with a long-term commitment to gaining expertise in the turbocharging field.
  • Conflict and project management skills, complemented by a proven track record in successful customer negotiations.
  • Strong focus on safe work practices, demonstrating dedication to all workplace safety guidelines.
  • Familiarity with field bus systems, particularly CAN.
  • A high level of self-motivation, curiosity, and eagerness to learn about new technologies.
  • Demonstrated management capabilities, with a collaborative, solution-focused approach, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in English, both written and spoken; additional languages are a plus.
