Job Overview
AMRIZE employs an advanced system within plant operations to optimize performance, ensure quality, and generate technical reports. This system, known as the Technical Information System (TIS), plays a vital role in our manufacturing process. The TIS Expert will lead activities related to TIS within the organization, ensuring its effective utilization, driving development initiatives, and providing essential training. TIS functions as a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and interfaces seamlessly with multiple plant systems, including the Plant Control System (PCS), laboratory equipment, and the business ERP.
Responsibilities
- Define and evaluate the information content of TIS, including signals, naming conventions, interfaces, and reports.
- Expert in system configuration and report generation.
- Oversee system operations, including software upgrades and enhancements.
- Ensure continuous data validation to maintain the accuracy and reliability of TIS data, preserving data integrity and enhancing system utilization.
- Achieve comprehensive plant integration across all operational areas, including maintenance, quality, production, process, logistics, and management.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to key TIS users and end users within the organization, sharing best practices in operational technology (OT) and information technology.
- Collaborate with plant operations, IT, maintenance, and engineering teams to troubleshoot issues and resolve bottlenecks.
- Experience with other plant systems such as kiln masters, energy audits, or advanced process control is preferred.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Automation Engineering.
- Project management certification is preferred.
Work Experience
- 5-10 years of experience in the cement industry, preferably within a global cement company.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in process automation within heavy or process industries, covering both IT and OT.
- At least 2 years of experience handling special projects such as digital twins, integrated digital application platforms, digital workplaces, integrated operations centers, data lakes, or related topics.
- Experience in coaching and transferring knowledge on complex projects.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Expertise in holistic industrial solutions architecture.
- Strong analytical problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in interfaces control bus configuration.
- Excellent communication skills.
- LabVIEW programming skills are an advantage.
Language Requirements
- English (required)
- Fluency in Spanish, German, or French is an advantage.
Travel Requirements
- Up to 25% travel, primarily to North America.
