Job Opportunity: Technical Expert in Focused Ultrasound Technology
We are seeking a skilled Technical Expert to join our dynamic focused ultrasound technology team, dedicated to the non-invasive delivery of drugs to the brain using customized drug carriers.
Position Overview
This role will focus on supporting our innovative Aggregation-Uncaging Focused Ultrasound (AU-FUS) technology, which enables targeted drug delivery to specific brain structures through the use of tailored drug carriers.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the fabrication and characterization of ultrasound-sensitive drug carriers.
- Enhance the manufacturing process for improved efficiency.
- Establish the delivery of biologics, such as RNA, to the brain utilizing our ultrasound technology.
- Oversee complex chemical processes and syntheses involved in producing ultrasound-sensitive drug carriers.
- Perform quality control checks, ensuring the efficacy of drug loading and delivery.
- Summarize and present the status of drug carrier fabrication through written and oral reports.
- Conduct necessary statistical analyses for quality assurance.
- Monitor established processes autonomously and translate improvements into new modalities.
Required Skills
- PhD in Biology.
- Authorization to conduct in-vivo experiments in the Canton of Zurich.
- Strong proficiency in drug carrier chemistry and synthesis.
- Extensive practical experience in molecular and RNA biology.
- Understanding of focused ultrasound physics.
- Experience in quality control and adherence to good laboratory/manufacturing practices (GLP/GMP).
- Experience conducting in-vivo tests and various animal behavior assays.
- Demonstrated academic excellence (e.g., high-impact publications).
- Experience in writing scientific publications, reports, and successful grant proposals.
- Fluency in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Prism, GraphPad, or similar statistical software.
- Experience and enthusiasm for training junior staff (e.g., in drug carrier synthesis).
- Knowledge of different animal models for neuropsychiatric or neurological disorders.
