Position Overview
The Maintenance Team Lead for mechanics, electric, and automation during the afternoon and evening shifts is pivotal to overseeing maintenance operations at our Lengnau facility. This role entails supervising a skilled team, ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of equipment while maintaining compliance with GMP standards. The Team Lead will also be instrumental in troubleshooting issues, coordinating with various departments, and facilitating seamless collaboration among teams throughout the day. This position specifically covers activities from 13:00 to 22:00, Monday to Friday.
Position Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Lead the Afternoon and Evening Maintenance Team: Supervise and guide a team of 4 direct reports, including specialists in Mechanical & Utilities, Instrumentation & Electrics, and Automation.
- Support Manufacturing Operations: Provide essential support for manufacturing, swiftly addressing any equipment breakdowns impacting production to ensure minimal disruption.
- Ensure Equipment Reliability: Oversee maintenance and repair of all equipment for optimal performance and reliability, including process equipment and automation systems.
- Troubleshoot and Resolve Issues: Respond quickly to and diagnose equipment issues during afternoon and evening operations, implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime.
- Coordinate with Other Departments: Collaborate with various departments to align maintenance activities with production schedules and priorities.
- Maintain Compliance: Conduct all maintenance activities according to GMP standards and safety regulations, ensuring accurate documentation of work performed.
- Support Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance maintenance efficiency.
- Train and Develop Team: Offer training and development opportunities for team members, conduct performance reviews, and provide constructive feedback.
- Manage Team Handover: Ensure effective communication and documentation of ongoing issues and priorities during the transition between morning and afternoon/evening teams.

- Actively contribute to quality improvement initiatives and participate in deviation reporting and follow-ups.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience & Competencies
- 3-5 years of experience in maintenance management, preferably in a GMP manufacturing environment.
- Experience supervising maintenance teams and managing complex operations.
- Proven record in ensuring equipment reliability and regulatory compliance.
- Strong understanding of GMP standards and maintenance practices.
- Excellent leadership, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, enabling collaboration with cross-functional teams.
