Position: Teacher of Science/Chemistry
Type: 100% – 2-year contract – August 2025
Responsibilities:
- Deliver effective teaching and learning of Science throughout the secondary school.
- Participate in the design, development, implementation, and review of the lower secondary, IGCSE, and IBDP Science programmes.
- Liaise with curriculum leaders to ensure effective curriculum delivery, including resource selection and classroom management.
- Identify SEN students and collaborate to meet their needs.
- Lead on projects while demonstrating the ability to work independently.
- Promote health and safety within assigned classes.
- Engage in professional development and contribute to regular staff training and meetings.
- Contribute to a programme of trips, excursions, fieldtrips, and extracurricular activities.
- Enhance the professional standing of the teaching body.
- Foster positive relations between the Science department and the wider community through collaboration, publications, and competitions.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Subject-related degree (Biology, Chemistry, Physics) and PGCE or equivalent.
- Proven track record of excellence in teaching, with at least three years of experience, ideally in an international environment.
- Ability to teach Chemistry up to IGCSE and IBDP, which would be an asset.
- Experience teaching IGCSE and IBDP/A-level Science preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and a strong team player.
- A passion for teaching that inspires students.
- Ability to manage a diverse and demanding workload.
- Skill in creating challenging and engaging learning opportunities for mixed culture and ability classes.
- Capability to support student needs in learning and pastoral matters.
- Clear criminal record.
