We are seeking a passionate Teacher of Psychology to join our vibrant community at an all-through 4-18 international boarding school nestled in the majestic Swiss Alps.
Main Duties
- Teach across a diverse age and ability range, tailoring lessons to meet the individual needs of each student.
- Contribute to the broader school community by engaging in sporting events, extracurricular activities, and other enrichment programs.
- Collaborate within our Boarding Department.
- Commit to your professional growth and development.
- Mentor a small group of learners, monitoring their achievements and overall well-being.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to safeguarding all young people.
- Handle subject-related administration and participate in departmental meetings as required.
- Adhere to the school’s assessment and reporting processes, and attend parents’ meetings when necessary.
Person Specification
- A good honours degree and/or a further degree in a directly-related subject.
- A dedication to the principles of equality, diversity, and inclusion.
- A passion for the subject with the ability to inspire students.
- A willingness to embrace developments and innovations in teaching and learning, experimenting with new practices.
- Capability to supervise learners completing the MYP Personal Project or the DP Extended Essay.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with English as a mother tongue.
- Alignment with the educational vision of La Garenne International School, including our holistic approach to education, and a desire to contribute to co-curricular and pastoral aspects of school life.
- Strong interpersonal skills, fostering relationships and collaboration with colleagues and school leadership.
