We are seeking a passionate Teacher of Psychology to join our vibrant international boarding school, located in the stunning Swiss Alps. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work with students from ages 4 to 18 in a supportive and enriching environment.
Main Duties
- Teach across a diverse age and ability range, tailoring lessons to meet the individual needs of each student.
- Contribute to the wider school community by participating in sporting events, extracurricular activities, and other enrichment initiatives.
- Collaborate with our Boarding Department to enhance student life.
- Pursue your own professional growth and development continuously.
- Mentor a small group of learners, monitoring their achievements and well-being.
- Demonstrate a clear commitment to the safeguarding of all young people.
- Administer subject-related tasks as needed and actively participate in departmental meetings.
- Adhere to the school’s assessment and reporting procedures and attend parents’ meetings as required.
Person Specification
- A good honours degree and/or a further degree in a directly-related subject.
- A commitment to the principles of equality, diversity, and inclusion.
- A genuine passion for your subject, with the ability to inspire others.
- A readiness to embrace developments and innovations in teaching, along with a willingness to experiment with new practices.
- A willingness to supervise learners completing the MYP Personal Project or the DP Extended Essay.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with native fluency.
- An alignment with the educational vision of La Garenne International School, particularly in our holistic approach and eagerness to engage in co-curricular and pastoral activities.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with colleagues and school leadership.
- High ICT competence and a willingness to embrace new technologies.
