Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic Teacher of Psychology to join our vibrant community at an all-through 4-18 international boarding school nestled in the breathtaking Swiss Alps. Main Duties

  • Teach across a diverse age and ability range, tailoring lessons to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Contribute to the broader school community by participating in sporting events, extracurricular activities, and other enrichment programs.
  • Become an integral part of our Boarding Department.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and seek opportunities for personal growth.
  • Mentor a small group of learners, monitoring their academic achievements and well-being.
  • Demonstrate a clear commitment to the safeguarding of all young people.
  • Handle subject-related administrative tasks and participate actively in departmental meetings.
  • Adhere to the school’s assessment and reporting processes, attending parents’ meetings as required.

Person Specification

  • A good honors degree and/or a further degree in a directly related subject.
  • A strong commitment to the principles of equality, diversity, and inclusion.
  • A passion for your subject that can inspire and engage students.
  • Openness to developments and innovations in teaching and learning, with a willingness to experiment with new practices.
  • Willingness to supervise learners completing the MYP Personal Project or the DP Extended Essay.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with English as a native language.
  • A shared educational vision aligned with La Garenne International School, including a holistic view of education and enthusiasm for co-curricular and pastoral life.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships and collaborate effectively with colleagues and school leadership.
  • Robust ICT competence, with a willingness to embrace new technologies.
  • A positive outlook, an optimistic approach to change and development, and a good sense of humor.

Compulsory safeguarding training is mandatory for all new employees and is conducted annually thereafter. Final interviews will be held at La Garenne, with candidates’ expenses covered upon approval of invoices.
