We are seeking a dedicated Teacher of Psychology who is enthusiastic about engaging with students at our beautiful all-through 4-18 international boarding school nestled in the Swiss Alps.
Main Duties
- Teach across a diverse age and ability range, tailoring lessons to meet individual student needs.
- Contribute to the broader school community by participating in sporting events, extracurricular activities, and enrichment opportunities.
- Play an active role in our Boarding Department.
- Pursue continuous professional development and improvement of personal teaching practices.
- Be responsible for mentoring a small group of learners, monitoring their achievements and overall well-being.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all young people.
- Complete subject-related administrative tasks and engage in departmental meetings as necessary.
- Adhere to the school’s assessment and reporting processes and attend parents’ meetings as required.
Person Specification
- A good honours degree and/or a further degree in a relevant subject area.
- A commitment to the principles of equality, diversity, and inclusion.
- A passion for the subject that inspires and motivates students.
- Willingness to embrace developments and innovations in teaching and learning, including experimenting with new practices.
- Able to supervise learners engaged in the MYP Personal Project or the DP Extended Essay.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with English as a mother tongue.
- A shared educational vision with La Garenne International School, emphasizing a holistic approach to education and enthusiasm for contributing to co-curricular and pastoral activities.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with colleagues and school leadership.
