Job Opportunity: Teacher of MYP Science & Mathematics

We are seeking an enthusiastic Teacher of MYP Science & Mathematics to join our beautiful all-through 4-18 international boarding school set in the stunning Swiss Alps. This position offers a unique opportunity to inspire and engage students across various age groups and abilities.

Main Duties

  • Teach across a diverse age and ability range, tailoring lessons to meet the individual needs of each student.
  • Engage in the wider school community by participating in sporting events, extracurricular activities, and other enrichment opportunities.
  • Contribute to our collaborative Science & Mathematics Departments.
  • Participate in boarding life, fostering a supportive environment for our students.
  • Commit to your own professional development and growth within the educational field.
  • Mentor a small group of learners, monitoring their achievements and well-being.
  • Manage departmental resources to maintain a safe, clean, and organized working environment at all times.
  • Demonstrate a clear commitment to safeguarding the welfare of all young people.
  • Complete subject-related administration as required and actively participate in departmental meetings.
  • Adhere to the school’s assessment and reporting processes and attend parents’ meetings as needed.

Person Specification

  • A good honours degree and/or a further degree in a directly-related subject.
  • A commitment to the principles of equality, diversity, and inclusion.
  • A passion for the subject, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • A willingness to embrace teaching innovations and experiment with new practices.
  • Ability to supervise learners completing the MYP Personal Project or the DP Extended Essay.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • A shared educational vision with La Garenne International School, including a holistic approach to education and a desire to contribute to extracurricular and pastoral life.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships and collaborate effectively with colleagues and school leadership.
  • Proficiency in ICT and a willingness to embrace new technologies.
