Position Available: Teacher of MYP Science & Mathematics

We are seeking an enthusiastic Teacher of MYP Science & Mathematics to join our vibrant all-through 4-18 international boarding school nestled in the stunning Swiss Alps. This role provides a unique opportunity to work closely with students, inspiring them in their academic journey.

Main Duties

  • Teach across a diverse age and ability range, tailoring lessons to meet the individual needs of each student.
  • Contribute to the wider school community by participating in sporting events, extracurricular activities (ECAs), and various enrichment programs.
  • Collaborate with the Science & Mathematics Departments.
  • Engage in the boarding life to support student growth outside the classroom.
  • Focus on your own professional practice and growth.
  • Mentor a small group of learners, monitoring their achievements and well-being.
  • Manage resources within the department, ensuring a safe, clean, and organized working environment at all times.
  • Demonstrate a clear commitment to the safeguarding of all young people.
  • Complete subject-related administrative tasks when necessary and participate in departmental meetings.
  • Adhere to the school’s assessment and reporting processes and attend parents' meetings as required.

Person Specification

  • A good honours degree and/or a further degree in a directly-related subject.
  • A commitment to the principles of equality, diversity, and inclusion.
  • A passion for your subject, capable of inspiring others.
  • Willingness to embrace developments and innovations in teaching and learning, and to experiment with new practices.
  • Able to supervise learners completing the MYP Personal Project or the DP Extended Essay.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with English as your mother tongue.
  • Aligned with the educational vision of La Garenne International School, including a holistic approach to education, and eager to contribute to the co-curricular and pastoral life within the school.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships and collaborating effectively with colleagues and school leadership.
  • Proficient in ICT and open to embracing new technologies.
