YOUR PROFILE

Are you passionate about inspiring young minds and fostering a love for mathematics? At Beau Soleil, we view mathematics as an essential tool for developing critical thinking, reasoning, and problem-solving skills. As a member of our dedicated Maths team, you'll guide students from their first encounters with algebra in Grade 6 to the intricate challenges of IBDP Higher Level classes.

As a qualified teacher, you will be a fluent English speaker, ideally familiar with the IBDP curriculum, and experienced in working with students from diverse backgrounds. You will possess excellent communication skills and be comfortable with technology, building positive relationships with colleagues, students, and parents alike. Furthermore, you’ll be well-organized, have a good sense of humor, and be eager to engage in extracurricular activities, including life in the boarding house.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build a strong profile for the subject within and beyond the Maths Faculty by working collaboratively and committing to continuous improvement in the quality of students’ learning.
  • Develop and deploy resources to support high-quality student learning, planning effective teaching programs that provide exemplary opportunities within and beyond the classroom.
  • Utilize formative and summative assessments effectively to create challenging learning opportunities for all students, incorporating homework and other extracurricular activities.
  • Support the academic progress of a small group of students within one of our boarding houses.
  • Act as a coach and mentor to individual tutees.
  • Contribute to whole school learning initiatives.

EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Relevant degree in Mathematics
  • Teaching qualification
  • Fluent English speaker

EXPERIENCE

  • 2 years of teaching experience
  • Experience in a highly successful department and school
  • Demonstrable evidence of innovating and adapting curricula to engage students and enhance performance
  • Experience delivering a UK National Curriculum and/or the IB Diploma
