Teacher of Geography / Teacheress of Geography

Collège Alpin Beau-Soleil SA - September 25, 2025

OUR PHILOSOPHY

At Beau Soleil, we believe that actions speak louder than words. This philosophy guides everything we do for both our staff and students. We are a vibrant community that values the power of action, engagement, and participation, both inside and outside the classroom.

Our unique holistic education is built around four core values: Respect, Responsibility, Ambition, and Determination, providing a framework for life within our international student body. With students hailing from over fifty different countries, our diverse academic backgrounds and aspirations enrich the learning environment.

Offering curricular programs in both English and French, students graduate with an IB or Advanced Studies Diploma. Our small class sizes allow for a flexible curriculum, enabling staff to innovate and bring fresh ideas into the educational experience.

OUR COMMUNITY

Located in the heart of Villars-sur-Ollon, our school offers an enviable lifestyle with skiing opportunities in winter and a variety of outdoor and sporting activities year-round. Montreux, Lausanne, and Geneva are all within easy reach for cultural adventures and inspiration.

The Beau Soleil campus serves as an inspiring workplace, equipped with facilities that are second to none. Our ongoing campus development and maintenance program ensures that both students and staff thrive in an environment they can be proud of.

YOUR PROFILE

Is there a better place in the world to teach Geography? What most consider a once-a-year field trip becomes your everyday classroom — glaciers, forests, Alpine meadows, and mountain villages form your daily landscape.

Living and working in the heart of the Swiss Alps, you will bring your passion for Geography to life for students from around the globe. Whether you're encouraging younger pupils to engage deeply with climate change and sustainability, or assisting a Year 13 IB student in fine-tuning their Internal Assessment methodology during a glacier survey, your teaching will intertwine academic learning with real-world experiences. You'll inspire curiosity, foster understanding, and cultivate skills that extend far beyond the classroom.

Starting in October 2025, this full-time, permanent position offers you the chance to make a meaningful contribution to our vibrant school life, both in the classroom and through our rich co-curricular programs.

As a member of our international boarding school, education is seen as more than just a timetable; it is a way of life. From morning classes to weekend expeditions, you'll share ideas, challenges, and adventures with students in a community that prizes holistic learning, meaningful relationships, and outdoor exploration alongside academic success.

You will be part of a forward-thinking and collaborative Humanities department that actively encourages creativity and curiosity. The role may also involve teaching our Integrated Humanities course for Years 7 to 11, and familiarity or experience with IB Environmental Systems and Societies is a bonus.

You are a qualified teacher, fluent in English, and well-versed in the IBDP. Your experience with students from diverse backgrounds, along with your excellent communication skills and proficiency with digital tools, underscores your commitment to building strong relationships with students, colleagues, and families alike.

Well-organized, enthusiastic, and adaptable, you have a good sense of humor and a readiness to immerse yourself in school life. Whether leading a parent-teacher meeting, climbing a 4,000m peak, or cheering students on at a night-time ski race, you view every moment as an opportunity for growth, and you’re ready to make it count.
