Main Duties
- Teach across a diverse age and ability range, tailoring lessons to meet individual student needs.
- Engage in the broader school community by participating in sporting events, extracurricular activities (ECAs), and various enrichment programs.
- Contribute to our Boarding Department.
- Focus on professional development and seek opportunities to enhance your teaching practice.
- Mentor a small group of learners, monitoring their achievements and well-being.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to safeguarding all young people.
- Handle subject-related administration as required and actively participate in departmental meetings.
- Follow the school’s assessment and reporting protocols and attend parents’ meetings when applicable.
Person Specification
- A good honours degree and/or a further degree in a directly related subject.
- A commitment to the principles of equality, diversity, and inclusion.
- A passion for geography and the ability to inspire students.
- Willingness to embrace developments and innovations in teaching and learning, and experiment with new practices.
- Desire to supervise learners completing the MYP Personal Project or the DP Extended Essay.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Alignment with the educational vision of La Garenne International School, including our holistic approach to education, and excitement to contribute to co-curricular and pastoral activities.
- Strong interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships and collaborating effectively with colleagues and school leadership.
- Proficient in ICT, with a readiness to adopt new technologies.

La Garenne International School is dedicated to safeguarding the children and young people under our care. All new staff will undergo enhanced pre-employment clearance, which includes criminal records checks and Swiss Justice Department validations for individuals working with children. Identity, qualifications, and employment verification are also mandatory. Compulsory safeguarding training will be provided for all new employees and repeated at least annually thereafter. Final interviews will be held at La Garenne, and candidates’ expenses will be reimbursed, subject to the approval of invoices.
