We are seeking an enthusiastic Teacher of Geography to work with students in our beautiful all-through 4-18 international boarding school located in the Swiss Alps. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a vibrant community dedicated to educational excellence and holistic development.
Main Duties
- Teach across a diverse age and ability range, adapting lessons to meet the unique needs of each student.
- Contribute to the broader life of the school through participation in sporting events, extracurricular activities, and other enrichment programs.
- Be an integral part of our Boarding Department.
- Engage in the ongoing development of your professional practice.
- Mentor a small group of learners while monitoring their achievements and well-being.
- Demonstrate a clear commitment to the safeguarding of all young people.
- Handle subject-related administration as required and take part in departmental meetings.
- Follow the school’s assessment and reporting processes and attend parents’ meetings as necessary.
Person Specification
- A good honours degree and/or a further degree in a directly-related subject.
- Commitment to the principles of equality, diversity, and inclusion in education.
- A passion for Geography that inspires students.
- Willingness to embrace innovative teaching practices and experiment with new methodologies.
- Ability to supervise learners completing the MYP Personal Project or DP Extended Essay.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Alignment with the educational vision of La Garenne International School, including a commitment to co-curricular and pastoral life.
- Strong interpersonal skills, able to build relationships and collaborate effectively with colleagues and school leadership.
- Proficiency in ICT and a willingness to adopt new technologies.
- A positive attitude, an optimistic approach to change and development, along with a good sense of humour.
