We are seeking an enthusiastic Teacher of Geography to join our vibrant community at our beautiful all-through 4-18 international boarding school nestled in the Swiss Alps.
Main Duties
- Teach across a diverse age and ability range, adapting lessons to meet the individual needs of students.
- Contribute to the broader school community through active participation in sporting events, extracurricular activities (ECAs), and other enrichment opportunities.
- Engage actively in our Boarding Department.
- Pursue ongoing professional development and seek to enhance your teaching practice.
- Mentor a small group of learners, monitoring their progress and well-being.
- Demonstrate a clear commitment to safeguarding the welfare of all young people.
- Manage subject-related administrative tasks as necessary and engage in departmental meetings.
- Adhere to the school’s assessment and reporting processes and attend parents’ meetings as required.
Person Specification
- Possess a good honours degree and/or a further degree in a directly related subject.
- Demonstrate a commitment to the principles of equality, diversity, and inclusion.
- Exhibit a passion for the subject and inspire enthusiasm in students.
- Embrace innovative teaching methodologies and demonstrate a willingness to experiment with new practices.
- Be prepared to supervise learners completing the MYP Personal Project or the DP Extended Essay.
- Showcase excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Share the educational vision of La Garenne International School, including our holistic approach to education, and show eagerness to contribute to co-curricular and pastoral life at the school.
- Possess strong interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with colleagues and school leadership.
- Exhibit strong ICT competence and a willingness to embrace new technologies.
