YOUR PROFILE

Imagine teaching Geography in an unparalleled setting where glaciers, forests, Alpine meadows, and mountain villages form your everyday classroom. Living and working in the heart of the Swiss Alps, you'll ignite your passion for Geography among students from around the world. Whether engaging younger pupils in deep discussions about climate change and sustainability, or guiding Year 13 IB students through their Internal Assessment methodologies during glacier surveys, your teaching will bridge academic learning with real-world experiences. You will inspire curiosity, foster understanding, and cultivate skills that extend well beyond the classroom.

This is a maternity cover role, running from October 2025 to June 2026, offering a unique opportunity to meaningfully contribute to our vibrant school community during a crucial segment of the academic year.

As a member of our international boarding school, you’ll come to view education not merely as a series of lessons, but as an all-encompassing way of life. From morning classes to weekend expeditions, you’ll share ideas, challenges, and adventures with students in a community that values holistic learning, meaningful relationships, and outdoor exploration as much as academic success.

You’ll be part of a forward-thinking and collaborative Humanities department that encourages creativity and curiosity. The role may also include teaching our Integrated Humanities course from Years 7 to 11, and prior experience or interest in IB Environmental Systems and Societies would be advantageous.

You are a qualified teacher, fluent in English and familiar with the IBDP. You possess experience working with students from diverse backgrounds, and you’re an excellent communicator, confident with digital tools, committed to building strong relationships with students, colleagues, and families alike. Your well-organized, enthusiastic demeanor, combined with adaptability and a good sense of humor, allows you to fully engage in school life. Whether leading a parent-teacher meeting, climbing a 4,000m peak, or cheering on students during a night-time ski race, you view every moment as part of the learning journey — and you’re ready to make it count.
