Job Opportunity: Teacher of Chemistry
We are seeking an exceptional and highly motivated Teacher of Chemistry who embraces innovative pedagogical practices and is capable of teaching the subject at MYP/IGCSE and IB Diploma levels. This role is designed for a Chemistry specialist who is equally adept in the classroom and collaboration with colleagues, balancing both teaching and leadership responsibilities in alignment with the school's needs.
Main Duties
- Teach across various age groups and abilities, adapting lessons to meet the individual needs of each student.
- Contribute to the broader school community by participating in sporting events, extracurricular activities, and other enrichment programs.
- Continuously seek to enhance your own professional practice and development.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to safeguarding all young people.
- Manage subject-related administration as required and engage in or lead department meetings.
- Follow the school’s assessment and reporting processes and participate in parents' meetings as necessary.
- Ensure exceptional standards of health and safety within the Science Department.
- Maintain and manage Science stocks effectively, adhering to CLEAPSS protocols for the safe storage, use, and disposal of materials.
The Ideal Candidate

- Possesses previous experience leading a Science Department, ideally in a setting where students follow the IB Diploma Programme.
- Holds a good honours degree and/or a further degree in a related subject.

- Passionate about the subject with the ability to inspire and engage students.
- Welcomes developments and innovations in teaching and learning, with a willingness to experiment with new methodologies.
- Is prepared to supervise learners completing the MYP Personal Project or the DP Extended Essay as needed.
