Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Teacher of Business to join our vibrant community at our beautiful all-through 4-18 international boarding school located in the stunning Swiss Alps. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire and engage students as they explore the world of business.

Main Duties

  • Teach across a diverse age and ability range, tailoring lessons to meet the individual needs of each student.
  • Contribute to the wider school community by participating in sporting events, extracurricular activities (ECAs), and other enrichment initiatives.
  • Be an active member of our Boarding Department.
  • Continuously seek to develop your professional practice and personal growth.
  • Mentor a small group of learners, monitoring their achievements and well-being.
  • Demonstrate a clear commitment to safeguarding all young people.
  • Complete subject-related administrative tasks as necessary and actively participate in departmental meetings.
  • Adhere to the school's assessment and reporting processes and attend parent meetings as required.

Person Specification

  • A good honours degree and/or a further degree in a directly related subject.
  • A commitment to the principles of equality, diversity, and inclusion.
  • A passion for your subject that is infectious and encourages enthusiasm among students.
  • A willingness to embrace developments and innovations in teaching and learning, with an openness to experimenting with new practices.
  • A readiness to act as a supervisor for learners completing the MYP Personal Project or the DP Extended Essay.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; English as a mother tongue.
  • A shared educational vision with La Garenne International School, including enthusiasm for contributing to co-curricular and pastoral life at the school.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build collaborative relationships with colleagues and school leadership.
  • Proficiency in ICT and an eagerness to adopt new technologies.
  • A positive outlook, an optimistic approach to change and development, and a good sense of humour.
