Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of Business to join our vibrant community at an all-through 4-18 international boarding school located in the stunning Swiss Alps.

Main Duties

• Teach across the age and ability range, tailoring lessons to meet the individual needs of each student.
• Contribute to the wider school community by engaging in sporting events, extracurricular activities, and various enrichment programs.
• Be an integral part of our Boarding Department.
• Focus on ongoing professional development and self-improvement.
• Mentor a small group of learners, monitoring their achievements and well-being.
• Demonstrate a clear commitment to safeguarding all young people.
• Complete subject-related administration as required and actively participate in departmental meetings.
• Adhere to the school’s assessment and reporting processes and attend parents’ meetings as necessary.

Person Specification

• Hold a good honours degree and/or a further degree in a subject directly related to Business.
• Embrace a commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
• Exude passion for your subject and inspire others.
• Be open to developments and innovations in teaching, willing to experiment with new practices.
• Act as a supervisor for learners completing the MYP Personal Project or the DP Extended Essay.
• Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, with English as a mother tongue.
• Share the educational vision of La Garenne International School, including our holistic approach to education, and be excited to contribute to co-curricular and pastoral activities.
• Exhibit strong interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships and collaborating with colleagues and school leadership.
• Have strong ICT competence and a willingness to embrace emerging technologies.
