Summary

As a System Engineer, you will perform Systems Engineering (also known as Technical Project Management) throughout the study, development, qualification, and production phases to achieve and maintain qualification of products. You will be technically responsible for identified critical subsystems, such as separation mechanisms, within the company portfolio.

Your Mission

  • Lead and coordinate technical activities as the engineering responsible with the objective to meet requirements within the given budget and agreed schedule.
  • Lead and coordinate technical proposals, quotations, concept work, and trade studies.
  • Support processes and product continuous improvements; propose market-oriented initiatives to enhance existing technologies and production processes.
  • Break down technical requirements to subsystems, generating specifications for customers, suppliers, and subcontractors while tracking compliance with requirements.
  • Plan technical work packages, e.g., through the Design Development and Verification Plan.
  • Write and review technical specifications, project-related deliverables, and other documents (e.g., Test Plans, drawings, changes).
  • Conduct continuous technical risk management and perform Root Cause Analyses.
  • Provide engineering support to production.
  • Represent engineering during negotiations and reviews with customers and suppliers or subcontractors, serving as the primary engineering point of contact for customers.

Your Story

  • University master’s degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or a similar field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in System Engineering or Technical Project Management within the space or aerospace sector.
  • Proven expertise with composite systems or mechanisms.
  • Experience in the architecture, design, and development of aerospace systems based on defined performance, cost, and reliability targets.
  • Knowledge of project management techniques and tools.
  • Professional working proficiency in English (German is a plus), with strong writing and communication skills.
  • Proven track record in analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience with requirements management tools and databases/systems, e.g., DOORS, Polarion.
  • Knowledge of the aerospace industry and market.
  • Leadership experience.
