As part of Leonardo, Kopter is currently developing the AW09, a next-generation single-engine helicopter that boasts the largest cabin and cargo hold in its category. With increased modularity and modern electronic systems, the AW09 not only meets the latest safety standards but also enhances performance and comfort at low operating costs.

Kopter is poised to become Leonardo’s Centre of Excellence for new light helicopters and an incubator for emerging technologies, significantly contributing to the development of hybrid and electric propulsion systems. Our talented team of 320 professionals is primarily based in Switzerland, near Zurich and in Mollis (Canton of Glarus).

Your Responsibilities

  • Create compliance demonstration documentation to support the type certification of CS27 rotorcraft.
  • Maintain legal aviation and safety requirements in accordance with applicable regulatory frameworks (EASA Part-21, J and CS27).
  • Collaborate with team members on a technical level (S+F, reliability & maintainability, testing, analysis, etc.) to achieve a mature design of responsible systems.
  • Assure system and product quality by reviewing and checking fabrication methods, assembly methods, and installation processes.
  • Review and check part and assembly drawings to ensure compliance with Kopter procedures and applicable standards.
  • Conduct work using appropriate aerospace analysis methodologies in accordance with applicable regulatory frameworks (EASA Part-21, J and CS27) and business standards.
  • Utilize computer-aided design (3D CAD) software to create and verify project designs, ensuring a clearly defined 3D model of the system.
  • Create and check technical specifications to ensure well-defined processes and product information.
  • Support certification test activities, including experimental, environmental, operational, and stress tests on models and prototypes of aircraft and aerospace systems.
  • Assist with the assembly and fitting of aircraft and components to enhance understanding of the assembling process and improve design and instructions.

Your Qualifications & Experience

  • University degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field.
  • At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in designing aerospace transmission systems.
  • Experience in the certification of aerospace systems.
  • Experience with aerospace system testing.
  • Minimum of 3 years of CAD knowledge concerning handling and data structure; Siemens NX is an asset.
  • Familiarity with Teamcenter is a plus.
  • At least 2 years of experience in understanding and creating manufacturing and assembly drawings.
  • English language proficiency at a minimum B2 level (verbal & written).
