System Architect Optics

Your Main Tasks:

  • Define and design the system architecture of optical consumer products, ensuring top performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Translate product requirements and consumer needs into comprehensive system specifications.
  • Lead system-level integration activities, balancing optical, mechanical, electronic, and software requirements.
  • Oversee the technical definition, architecture, and roadmap of advanced optical systems for consumer products, such as multifunctional observation devices.
  • Specify and validate system interfaces across multidisciplinary teams (optical, mechanical, electronic, firmware/software).
  • Act as a technical reference for internal and external stakeholders throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing teams to drive product industrialization and quality assurance.
  • Stay informed about emerging trends and innovations in optical science, materials, and technologies.

Your Profile:

  • Master's Degree in Physics, Optics, or a related field (ETH or equivalent, University of Applied Sciences).
  • At least 3 years of proven experience in optical product development and system-level architecture, particularly in consumer environments. Knowledge of binoculars and laser range finders is a plus.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary teams and collaborating across various project phases.
  • Strong team spirit coupled with excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in development methodologies.
  • Fluency in German and English.
