Job Description
The management of supplier quality at EM Microelectronic-Marin SA directly impacts the effectiveness and efficiency of several key activities, including SCAR process management, supplier selection and qualification, process change management, performance monitoring, continuous improvement plans, critical supplier focus, global quality performance evaluation, and the development of suppliers where appropriate.
Additionally, the EM internal auditor ensures that organizational processes comply with the requirements of standards such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 17025, as well as customer, regulatory, and organizational requirements. This role is crucial for EM Marin and its remote locations, including EM BKK.
Position: Supplier Quality Manager
- Define the supplier quality management strategy in close collaboration with Quality Management, Operations, and Business Units, ensuring its effective implementation and completion.
- Ensure that supplier quality agreements are established and reviewed in a timely manner.
- Deploy and communicate EM and customer requirements effectively to relevant parties.
- Oversee the SCAR management process, including root cause analysis, the effectiveness of CAPA, and adequate responses according to EM and customer requirements.
- Collaborate with Operations, BU, and Purchasing to assess, select, and qualify new suppliers and articles, and to review and validate suppliers' PPAP as applicable.
- Review, assess, accept, and qualify suppliers' process changes in cooperation with Operations, BU, and Purchasing.
- Support risk assessment for supplier-related waiver requests to ensure no impact on EM production and customer commitments.
- Establish yearly targets for automotive-grade and other relevant suppliers, foundries, and subcontractors.
- Monitor and report on suppliers' quality performance to management, analyzing and driving continuous improvement projects based on key detractors.
- Support supplier performance re-evaluations with the Supply Chain team to initiate audits and development plans.
- Manage the supplier audit program in collaboration with interested parties, requiring VDA 6.3 methodology for automotive-grade suppliers.
- Act as lead auditor for EM's internal audit activities, prioritizing audits, conducting internal audits, reviewing corrective action effectiveness, and consolidating and reporting system gaps and opportunities to management.
Profile
- Engineering degree (Master's preferred) in Electronics, Microelectronics, or Materials Engineering, with 5-10 years of experience in a supplier quality organization.
- Knowledge of Quality Management Systems: ISO 9001, IATF 16949.
- Familiarity with automotive core tools: FMEA, MSA, SPC, PPAP, APQP.
- Understanding of relevant industry standards such as AEC Q100, Jedec, MIL883, etc.
- Audit experience with VDA 6.3 and strong knowledge of ISO 19011. Proficiency in analytical skills and problem-solving methods; statistical knowledge is a plus.
- Knowledge of semiconductor product development and manufacturing processes/environment.
- Project management skills.
