Your Responsibilities

We are seeking a motivated student to support our team in the lab and help initiate a project focused on identifying plasmid-encoded competition systems. Your tasks will include:

• Molecular lab work, such as PCR, cloning, and verifying bacterial strains and plasmids.
• Conducting competition experiments between plasmids and strains.
• Organizing and analyzing data, while maintaining clear records of strains, plasmids, and protocols.

Your Profile

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• Matriculated Master's student (University of Zurich, ETH) in biology or a related field; recent MSc graduates may also apply.
• Solid hands-on skills in microbiology and molecular biology (e.g., PCR, gel electrophoresis, sterile culture handling, growth rate experiments).
• Highly motivated, with a genuine interest in the topic and a keen desire to learn new skills.
• Careful, reliable, and well-organized, capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
