Student Assistant at the Chair of Work and Organizational Psychology

10%-30%, Zurich, fixed-term

The Chair of Work and Organizational Psychology at ETH Zurich is seeking a student assistant (HIWI) to contribute to an exciting project starting immediately or based on mutual agreement.

We are looking for a motivated student assistant to provide operational support for our ongoing research projects. The workload is approximately two days per week, offering flexible scheduling that can be extended during semester breaks. We encourage applications from students interested in a longer-term position, lasting at least until the end of 2025.

Project Background

This position presents a unique opportunity to actively engage in our current research projects, enhancing your knowledge and skills in work and organizational psychology. Current research focuses on:

  • Exploring new work processes through the collaboration of humans and AI technologies, specifically in the architecture, engineering, and construction sectors.
  • Developing an uncertainty regulation intervention to support individuals in navigating uncertainty across various contexts.

Job Description

  • Assist in study preparations, data collection, processing, and analysis within both quantitative and qualitative research projects (including programming online questionnaires, recruiting samples, coding interviews, literature reviews, web-scraping, and social network analysis).
  • Execute various editing tasks for publications, such as preparing graphics, participating in text editing, data visualization, and creating reference lists.
  • Provide general support with additional project-related tasks.

Profile

  • An interest in research.
  • A self-starter with the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A committed and conscientious approach to work.
  • Outstanding command of English; proficiency in other languages, particularly German, French, and/or Italian, is advantageous.
  • Experience with statistical software (SPSS, R, MATLAB, Mplus, etc.).
  • Strong IT skills (internet research, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Preferably an advanced bachelor's degree (from the 4th semester) or a master's degree.
