The Strategy and Analytics Team supports the systematic integration of sustainability and ethics into teaching and learning. The team's goal is to empower students to address global challenges such as climate change, resource justice, and ethical decision-making competently, acting as 'change agents for a better tomorrow'. Our proactive and strategic approach leverages data to shape the future of education at ETH Zurich.

Project Background

You will support an initiative that enhances sustainability and ethics by assisting in the collection of teaching examples across ETH departments and partner universities (ENHANCE+) through qualitative interviews.

Job Description

As a student assistant, you will collaborate with the project team in conducting interviews with members of the ETH community (e.g., lecturers, curriculum developers, student organizations). These interviews are essential for collecting best practices and obtaining a nuanced understanding of the expectations, challenges, and concerns regarding sustainability and ethics in teaching.

Specifically, your responsibilities will include:

  • Administrative support for the interviews (e.g., scheduling, collecting follow-up materials)
  • Transcription and revision of interview transcripts, transforming interviews into ready-to-use examples for knowledge transfer
  • Conducting literature research to support the development of additional teaching resources
  • Organizing workshops to engage the ETH community

Profile

The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:

  • Bachelor's or Master's student at a Swiss university
  • Motivated to integrate sustainability and ethics into higher education
  • Reliable, efficient, and capable of working independently
  • Possesses a positive 'can-do' attitude and enjoys providing feedback from a student perspective
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Experience in qualitative research through student assistant roles, seminar papers, or theses
  • Basic knowledge of interview transcription using NVivo or similar software
  • Confident and precise communication skills in English; proficiency in German is advantageous
