As a student assistant, you will play a vital role in embedding sustainability and ethics within education at ETH Zurich by providing organizational and content-related support.

Project Background

You will support an initiative aimed at promoting sustainability and ethics through the collection of teaching examples across ETH departments and partner universities (ENHANCE+) via qualitative interviews.

Job Description

You will assist the project team in conducting interviews with members of the ETH community (e.g., lecturers, curriculum developers, student organizations). These interviews are designed to collect best practices and gain a comprehensive understanding of the expectations, challenges, and concerns regarding sustainability and ethics in teaching.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Administrative support for interviews (e.g., scheduling, gathering follow-up materials)
  • Transcription and revision of transcripts (transforming interviews into actionable examples for knowledge transfer)
  • Conducting literature research to support the development of additional teaching initiatives
  • Organizing workshops to engage the ETH community

Profile

  • You are a Bachelor's or Master's student at a Swiss university.
  • You are eager to contribute to the integration of sustainability and ethics into higher education.
  • You demonstrate reliability, efficiency, and independence in your work.
  • You possess a positive 'can-do' attitude and enjoy offering feedback from a student perspective.
  • You are proficient in MS Office.
  • You have experience in qualitative research through student assistant roles, seminar papers, or theses.
  • You have foundational knowledge of interview transcription using Nvivo or similar software.
  • You can communicate confidently and clearly in English; proficiency in German is a plus.
