A BIT MORE INFORMATION ABOUT ASPECT:

ASPECT Structural Engineers is a globally acclaimed, full-service structural engineering firm and mass timber consultancy, recognized as one of "Canada’s Top Small & Medium Employers" in 2024 and 2025 by Mediacorp Canada Inc.

Founded in 2016, we are now a cohesive team of over 60 engineers, technicians, and support staff. Through thoughtful yet pragmatic design practices and rigorous training, our engineers understand their roles in contributing to projects while supporting their colleagues.

Many ASPECT team members started their careers in other disciplines, leveraging their experiences with carpenters, contractors, suppliers, or architects to enrich our understanding of the value structural engineers bring to projects. Our team-based approach focuses on enhancing design, improving constructability, and reinforcing accountability.

From the outset, ASPECT has prioritized true sustainability, underscoring our commitment to understanding and educating others about the benefits of mass timber. Beyond delivering award-winning structural engineering for a variety of projects—from office buildings to bridges and custom homes—we also dedicate significant time to collaborating with industry leaders, including suppliers, architects, and clients, to explore new approaches to future design and construction using mass timber. Our diverse team actively engages in markets worldwide, with dedicated offices in Canada (Vancouver and Toronto) and Switzerland (Bern).

The Bern office is ASPECT’s initial foray into Europe, strategically located near the global epicenter of advanced mass timber construction, allowing us to service clients directly across Europe and North America.

As ASPECT handles mass timber projects globally, the Bern office often engineers structures destined for the United States and collaborates with European firms looking to expand into the North American market. This local presence eliminates time zone challenges and facilitates real-time peer reviews of US projects from Europe.
