Structural Analysis and Test Engineer / Structural Analysis and Test Engineeress

Anavia AG - February 19, 2026

About the Company

ANAVIA specializes in the design, development, and manufacturing of vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) systems with a capacity of up to 500 kilograms. The company provides industry-leading unmanned helicopter systems tailored for various mission profiles, such as Surveillance and Reconnaissance, Inspection, Mapping, and Cargo.

Position Overview

As a Structural Analysis and Test Engineer, you will be responsible for performing detailed finite element analysis (FEA) to assess the structural integrity of unmanned helicopter components. Your role will involve conducting load and fatigue analyses, analyzing both composite and metallic structures, executing structural testing, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless design and performance integration.

Your Main Tasks

  • Structural Analysis and Simulation: Conduct detailed finite element analysis (FEA) using tools such as FEMAP, NASTRAN, and ANSYS to assess the structural integrity of unmanned helicopter components, including rotor heads, propulsion systems, composite structures, and landing gear.
  • Load and Fatigue Analysis: Perform static, dynamic, vibration, and fatigue analyses to evaluate performance under operational and extreme load conditions, and assess the impact of cyclic loads on rotating machinery and composite materials.
  • Composite and Metallic Structures: Analyze composite layups, bonding interfaces, and hybrid metal-composite structures to ensure optimized strength-to-weight ratios and compliance with aerospace standards.
  • Test and Correlation: Develop and execute structural testing, including strain gauge instrumentation, accelerometers, and DAQ systems. Correlate test data with FEA predictions, refining models to enhance simulation accuracy.
  • Documentation: Prepare detailed engineering documentation, including design specifications, testing procedures, and maintenance manuals.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with electrical, aerodynamic, and software engineering teams to ensure integrated design and performance of the unmanned helicopter systems.
  • Compliance Assurance: Ensure mechanical designs comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about advancements in mechanical engineering and UAV technology, integrating best practices into analysis processes.

What You'll Bring

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field, along with 3 years of industry experience. A Doctoral degree is considered equivalent to industry experience.
  • Experience: Proven experience in structural analysis, preferably within the manned helicopter industry, with a strong focus on either composite structures or rotating machinery and components. Hands-on experience with structural testing is highly desirable.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of finite element principles, materials science, and failure criteria. Proficiency in FEA software (especially ANSYS and Optistruct) and simulation tools.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, combined with high social skills, analytical capabilities, and a solid technical understanding.
