Role Overview
We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead the Supplier Landscape & Taxonomy Initiative within the CS CoE. This pivotal role will transition our procurement model towards a centralized Contract, Procurement, & Licensing (CPL) framework while serving as both a "data architect" to organize our current fragmented spend and a "strategic advisor" to propose a comprehensive sourcing strategy. You will architect our "Sourcing Source of Truth," crafting a structured overview of our purchasing habits and streamlining supplier taxonomy aligned with governance processes. Your insights will aid in decision-making and budget alignment across the organization.
The Perfect Candidate
The ideal candidate is a strategic sourcing professional with over 5 years of experience in high-tech environments, supported by a degree in Business, Supply Chain, Data Science, or a related field. You will possess a data architect mindset combined with strong technical fluency, enabling you to translate complex datasets into actionable sourcing strategies. With a solid grasp of computational science, you'll be adaptable and quick to learn, driving informed, data-driven decisions for the team.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Spend Taxonomy & Classification: Lead the design of a tailored spend taxonomy and classification model to improve cost control and strategic sourcing initiatives.
- Data Curation & Enrichment: Review and rationalize our inventory of external specialists, aligning existing capabilities with defined procurement categories.
- Strategic Consolidation: Collaborate across teams to identify synergies within our supplier landscape and create a consolidation strategy that optimizes leverage.
- Operational Bridge: Coordinate with Portfolio & Operations teams to enhance data flow efficiency between supplier landscapes and budget frameworks.
- Develop Training: Facilitate the upskilling of key roles in supplier and vendor management across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Landscape Mapping: Map all external resources to provide transparency on roles and responsibilities within the CS CoE.
- Service Catalog Development: Create a standardized catalog of buying categories to meet the technical needs of Computational Science.
- Stakeholder Interviewing: Engage with Subject Matter Experts to categorize technical roles functionally.
- Proposal for Strategy: Develop a data-driven category strategy outlining the future-state sourcing model and preferred supplier recommendations.
- Rate Card Benchmarking: Analyze rate structures to ensure optimal value for various specialized skill sets.
- Supplier Risk Profiling: Collaborate with Global Procurement to establish a risk assessment framework for our supplier landscape.
- Functional Training Strategy: Develop strategies for functional training to maximize value realization in vendor management.
Must Haves
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Procurement, Supply Chain, Data Science, or a related technical field.
- Experience: 5+ years in Strategic Sourcing, Vendor Management, or Consulting within high-tech sectors.
- Data Architect Mindset: Expertise in curating complex datasets into logical frameworks.
- Strategic Execution: Proven ability to transform fragmented data into cohesive sourcing strategies.
- Technical Fluency: Familiarity with terminology in AI and Data Science for accurate categorization.
- Computational Domain Literacy: In-depth understanding of the Computational Science market.
- Adaptability: Quick to adapt to new environments and learn new concepts.
- Language: Fluent in English is a must.
