About the Role
We are seeking an experienced professional to lead the Supplier Landscape & Taxonomy Initiative. This role will assist in transitioning to a centralized Contract, Procurement & Licensing (CPL) operating model that supports structured intake, governance, and supplier strategy. You will act as both a “data architect,” curating and structuring fragmented supplier and spend data, and as a “strategic advisor,” proposing a consolidated sourcing framework across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Spend Taxonomy & Classification: Lead the development of a bespoke spend taxonomy and classification model to enhance cost control and vendor segmentation.
- Data Curation & Enrichment: Review and rationalize the existing inventory of external contractors and consultants while aligning them with defined procurement categories.
- Strategic Consolidation: Identify synergies within our supplier landscape to maximize leverage and streamline administrative processes.
- Operational Bridge: Align with Portfolio & Operations teams to enhance data flow between the supplier landscape and budget frameworks.
- Develop Training: Collaborate with the organization to upskill key roles in supplier and vendor management.
- Landscape Mapping: Create a comprehensive map of all external resources for transparency across CS CoE.
- Service Catalog Development: Develop a standardized catalog of "buying categories" aligned with the technical needs of Computational Science.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts to translate technical roles into functional sourcing categories.
- Strategy Proposal: Develop and present a data-driven category strategy for the Computational Science (CS–CoE) portfolio.
- Rate Card Benchmarking: Analyze rate structures to identify effective sourcing channels.
- Supplier Risk Profiling: Establish a risk-assessment framework in collaboration with Global Procurement.
- Functional Training Strategy: Develop functional training for vendor management to maximize value realization.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a strategic sourcing professional with the following qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Procurement, Supply Chain, Data Science, or a related technical field.
- Experience: 5+ years in Strategic Sourcing, Vendor Management, or Consulting within high-tech environments.
- Data Architect Mindset: Expertise in curating datasets and building logical classification frameworks.
- Strategic Execution: Ability to distill contracts into key strategic pillars and transform fragmented data into cohesive sourcing strategies.
- Technical Fluency: Familiarity with AI and data science terminology for accurate service categorization.
- Computational Literacy: Deep understanding of the Computational Science market.
- Adaptability: Quick to learn and adapt to new concepts and domains.
- Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is a must.
