Position Overview: Strategic Procurement Manager
As a Strategic Procurement Manager, you will actively contribute to the formulation, execution, and evolution of procurement strategies. Your focus will be on locating, evaluating, contracting, and maintaining the best sources of supply for the materials and services required by Operations, considering aspects such as quality, value, performance, cost, and responsiveness to changing supply requirements, including licensing and logistics services.
You will take ownership and accountability for supplier and vendor selection and development, delivering ongoing and sustainable improvements in procurement costs in support of SR Technics' growth objectives.
Your Tasks
- Develop and execute procurement and strategic sourcing strategies to continuously reduce total cost of ownership and improve quality, standards, and delivery performance of services and products purchased, while maintaining awareness of changing business trends in the marketplace and their impact on SR Technics Switzerland.
- Analyze spend data and trends to identify, develop, recommend, and justify strategic sourcing initiatives in line with the needs of SR Technics Switzerland, utilizing data mining tools, marketplace analysis, end-user feedback, and preparing supporting reports and comparisons.
- Recommend the most appropriate and efficient methods for forming strategic sourcing initiatives and agreements, including assessing whether recurring purchases are suitable for strategic sourcing based on spend analysis and marketplace conditions.
- Negotiate strategic sourcing agreements and manage changes to supplier and vendor contracts in compliance with company policies and regulations, ensuring reasonable and beneficial outcomes for SR Technics Switzerland.
- Utilize negotiation and mediation skills to resolve contractual supplier and vendor disputes, ensuring compliance with policies and achieving acceptable resolutions.
- Analyze bid responses to determine responsive and responsible bidders, optimizing total cost for SR Technics Switzerland and justifying contract awards when needed.
- Collaborate with operational and other Procurement teams in the development of strategic sourcing agreements, assisting in the creation of internal policies and tools to support these initiatives, and monitor supplier performance through various reviews and customer outreach.
Your Profile
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering, business administration, or economics, with a preference for Supply Chain or Purchasing education.
- Professional experience in a technical environment, preferably within the aviation sector, combined with expertise in Purchasing and Supply Chain management.
- Demonstrated sourcing and contracting experience, supported by excellent project management skills with a focus on results and deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective relationship management and teamwork, complemented by strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Extensive working knowledge of databases and data handling tools.
- Language proficiency: German (level B2) and English (level C1).
