Position Overview: Strategic Procurement Manager
As a Strategic Procurement Manager, you will play a crucial role in formulating, executing, and evolving procurement strategies. Your focus will be on locating, evaluating, contracting, and maintaining the best sources of supply for the materials and services required by Operations. Your approach will encompass all aspects, including quality, value, performance, cost, and the ability to respond quickly to changing supply requirements, including licensing and logistics services. You will take ownership and accountability for supplier and vendor selection and development, driving ongoing and sustainable improvements in procurement costs to align with SR Technics' growth objectives.
Your Tasks
- Develop and execute procurement strategies to continuously reduce total cost of ownership and improve quality, standards, and delivery performance of purchased services and products.
- Recommend the most appropriate and efficient methods for forming strategic sourcing initiatives and agreements based on spend analysis, end-user activity, and marketplace insights.
- Negotiate strategic sourcing agreements and manage any changes in supplier and vendor contracts in accordance with compliance, policies, rules, and regulations.
- Assess the appropriateness of recurring purchases for strategic sourcing agreements and initiatives.
- Evaluate proposed contract changes and modifications to ensure alignment with SR Technics' best interests and compliance requirements.
- Utilize negotiation skills to resolve contractual disputes with suppliers and vendors, aiming for acceptable outcomes for all parties involved.
- Determine appropriate resolutions for potential issues arising during the strategic sourcing contracting processes through mediation between SR Technics and suppliers/vendors.
- Maintain awareness of changing business trends in the marketplace and how they may impact SR Technics.
- Defend or justify formal bid or proposal awards if a protest is filed by a vendor or contractor.
- Analyze bid responses to identify the most responsive and responsible bidders to optimize total costs for SR Technics.
- Analyze spend data and trends to identify and develop strategic sourcing initiatives that meet the needs of SR Technics.
- Use data mining tools to conduct spend analysis and prepare supporting reports, comparatives, and recommendations for strategic sourcing initiatives.
- Assist in developing internal policies and tools for implementing strategic sourcing initiatives while prioritizing them effectively.
- Collaborate with operational and other Procurement teams in forming strategic sourcing agreements.
- Monitor and track supplier and vendor performance through periodic financial reviews, product performance assessments, customer satisfaction surveys, and outreach.
Your Profile
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering, business administration, or economics required.
- Supply Chain / Purchasing education preferred.
- Professional experience in a technical environment, with a preference for the aviation sector.
- Expertise in Purchasing / Supply Chain.
- Experience in sourcing and contracting is required.
- Excellent project management skills, with a results and deadline-oriented mindset.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective relationship management and teamwork.
- Proficient communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with extended database operations.
- Language proficiency: German Level B2, English Level C1.
