Position Overview: Strategic Procurement Manager

As a Strategic Procurement Manager, you will actively contribute to the formulation, execution, and evolution of procurement strategies related to sourcing, evaluating, contracting, and maintaining optimal supply sources for the materials and services required by Operations. You will consider all aspects such as quality, value, performance, cost, and the ability to respond quickly to changing supply requirements, including licensing and logistics services. You will take ownership, responsibility, and accountability for supplier and vendor selection and development, delivering ongoing and sustainable improvements in procurement costs to support SR Technics' growth objectives.

Your Tasks

  • Develop and execute procurement strategies to continuously reduce total cost of ownership while improving quality, standards, and delivery performance of procured services and products.
  • Recommend the most appropriate and efficient methods for forming strategic sourcing initiatives/agreements based on spend analysis, end-user activities, and market trends.
  • Negotiate strategic sourcing agreements and manage changes in supplier and vendor contracts in accord with compliance, policies, and regulations.
  • Assess the appropriateness of recurring purchases for strategic sourcing agreements/initiatives.
  • Evaluate proposed contract changes to ensure they are reasonable and align with the best interests of SR Technics while adhering to policies and regulations.
  • Utilize negotiation skills to resolve contractual disputes with suppliers and vendors, ensuring acceptable outcomes in line with compliance requirements.
  • Implement appropriate resolutions for any issues arising during the strategic sourcing contracting processes, mediating disputes as necessary.
  • Stay informed about changing market trends and their potential impact on SR Technics.
  • Justify awards of formal bids or proposals in the event of disputes filed by vendors or contractors.
  • Analyze bid responses to optimize total costs for SR Technics through identification of the most responsive and responsible bidders.
  • Conduct spend analysis and research to identify and develop strategic sourcing initiatives meeting SR Technics' needs.
  • Assist in developing internal policies and tools necessary for implementing strategic sourcing initiatives, prioritizing them effectively.
  • Collaborate with the operational and other procurement teams in the formation of strategic sourcing agreements.
  • Monitor and evaluate supplier and vendor performance through financial reviews, product performance assessments, customer satisfaction surveys, and engagement.

Your Profile

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering, business administration, or economics required.
  • Preferred education in Supply Chain / Purchasing.
  • Professional experience in a technical environment, preferably in the aviation sector.
  • Expertise in Purchasing / Supply Chain required.
  • Required sourcing and contracting experience.
  • Excellent project management skills with a focus on results and deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills essential for relationship management and teamwork.
  • Robust communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in extended database use.
  • Language skills: German Level B2, English C1.
