Job Description

As an experienced Storage Engineer, you will take ownership of the stable, secure, and sustainable operation of critical storage services. You will independently plan, prioritize, and implement complex tasks while actively shaping and evolving our storage landscape.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Designing and refining BCM-related storage processes and solutions to guarantee availability, recoverability, and organizational resilience.
• Proactively managing risks to eliminate single points of failure in critical services.
• Operating and continuously developing solutions for long-term storage on high-latency media while ensuring data integrity and well-structured operational processes.
• Managing and optimizing our SAN infrastructure and collaborating closely with neighboring infrastructure and service teams.
• Contributing to incident, change, and lifecycle processes to ensure the reliability and performance of the overall IT environment.

Profile

You bring solid hands-on experience, deep technical expertise, and a structured approach:

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a comparable field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Several years of experience operating critical IT infrastructures (Enterprise Storage, SAN, Long-Term Storage, Archiving, BCM).
• Strong expertise in Enterprise Storage and Tape Storage.
• Advanced knowledge of SAN, Business Continuity Management, and Disaster Recovery.
• Experience with Linux (RHEL) and strong Bash scripting skills.
• Know-how in automation/scripting and structured operation of complex services.
• Experience with lifecycle and IT service management processes.
• Good German and advanced English skills.
