Your Mission
- Position data science to drive a top-line impact on the supply chain by reducing stockouts and ensuring orders are fulfilled in full, through evaluation and clarity on necessary technology, algorithms, and processes.
- Design, develop, and implement state-of-the-art optimization models for a more efficient, resilient, and reliable supply chain.
- Lead complex, end-to-end optimization projects from conception to deployment, ensuring they align with business needs and are both scalable and robust.
- Provide guidance on forecasting approaches and their implications for supply chain optimization and performance.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders across the organization, including Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Product, and Controlling, to strategize supply chain operations that effectively leverage data and AI.
- Act as a thought leader in the realm of supply chain optimization and forecasting, staying informed on the latest research and technologies while identifying opportunities for their application at On.
- Mentor and coach other data scientists, offering technical guidance and aiding their professional development.
- Contribute to the development of our data science platform and infrastructure, ensuring we possess the tools and processes necessary for efficient model building and deployment.
Your Story
- A deep understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning, and time-series forecasting, with 8+ years of data science experience focused on optimization within supply chains. Experience in building forecasting models is highly desired.
- A Master's or Ph.D. in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
- A hands-on data scientist who is also a strategic thinker, capable of leading projects, mentoring peers, and driving technical decisions.
- Expertise in Python and SQL, along with experience using data science libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, and TensorFlow/PyTorch, including the deployment and maintenance of machine learning and optimization models in production.
- Familiarity with optimization software (e.g., Gurobi) and fluency in large-scale data processing and distributed computing frameworks like Spark.
- A strong communicator capable of building relationships with stakeholders at all organizational levels, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business terms and facilitate alignment around proposed solutions.
- Passionate about using data to drive business impact and excited about the opportunity to influence the future of On’s supply chain.
