The innovation team at LAUFEN Bathrooms AG, a proud member of the ROCA Group, is looking to enhance our Materials Innovation Management with a focus on ceramics. Based primarily at our administrative site in Laufen, Switzerland, you will collaborate with an international team of dedicated professionals from various company locations.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate and engage with all members of the innovation team.
- Actively participate in upgrading the laboratory's equipment.
- Monitor advancements in ceramics, materials, and processes.
- Develop innovative concepts while managing R&D projects for new ceramic products and technologies, focusing on innovative materials, processes, product improvements, and resource savings.
- Execute innovation projects, including budget oversight.
- Collaborate with external research partners and manage R&D contracts.
- Support production management and quality assurance through knowledge transfer for the industrialization of new products and day-to-day operations.
- Work closely with product development and marketing teams.
- Be open to temporary assignments at other company locations, including those outside Europe.
Professional Qualifications
- PhD in Materials Science, Ceramic Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5–7 years of professional experience in the research and development of new materials.
- Experience in materials analysis and modeling.
- Strong understanding of ceramic technology, processing, and modern manufacturing methods.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken) and proficient in German; knowledge of additional languages such as Spanish or French is a plus.
- A strong innovative mindset, team-oriented approach, and a hands-on mentality.
- An interest in the latest developments and technologies in materials, ceramics, and sanitary products.
