With field operations across the globe, it employs approximately 150 staff members representing 32 nationalities and is an Associated Institute of the University of Basel.
The International Centre for Asset Recovery (ICAR) is a specialised centre at the Basel Institute that collaborates with partner countries to enhance their capacities to recover illicit assets. We place a strong emphasis on hands-on mentoring in investigation methods and confiscation and prosecution strategies, as well as fostering international cooperation. Our dual goal is to build capacity and effectively advance cases to the recovery stage. Additionally, we develop and deliver bespoke training, support legislative and institutional reform processes, and engage with other international organisations to foster innovation and global policy dialogue on asset recovery.
One of our flagship products, the Basel Anti Money Laundering Index (Basel AML Index), serves as a trusted risk assessment tool used by financial institutions, designated non-financial businesses and professions (DNFBPs), and governments worldwide to evaluate risks associated with money laundering, terrorist financing (ML/TF), and related financial crimes.
The Specialist, Financial Crime Risk will play a key role in maintaining, developing, and enhancing the Basel AML Index. Reporting directly to the Head of Financial Crime Risk, the successful candidate will provide data support, conduct research, and assist clients and users of the Basel AML Index.
